 EXPANDING COCONUT GROVE SIGNATURE
 
Located around 30km from Panjim, Bicholim, where COCONUT GROVE is situated is a city and a municipal council in North Goa district.
 
With mining being the mainstay of the economy of the place, Bicholim is replete with Opportunities in education as it has three primary schools, four secondary schools and a a polytechnic institute. There are a number of hospitals and healthcare centres, temples, churches and mosques, and a protected site, Pandava caves seeped in history and enigma.
 
Bicholim has an idyllic landscape interspersed with serene lakes and majestic waterfalls. The tranquil Mayem lake is a major tourism destination in Bicholim. Located amidst rolling hills and surrounded by a countryside, the lake is one of the most pristine nature spots in Goa. The Goa Tourism Development Department has developed a boating area and a resort here.

The Arvalem caves, also known as 'Pandava Caves,' are ancient rock cut caves dating back to the 5-6 century. These are excavated into the laterite hill consisting of two major chambers and a residential chamber. The cave complex draws tourists and archeologists alike. Next to the Arvalem caves down the lane is the Harvalem waterfalls situated closer to a Rudreshwar Temple. It is a picturesque waterfall with a viewing spot under construction by the Goa tourism Corporation. This makes Bicholim a feather in the cap of Goa and COCONUT GROVE is situated in the heart of Bicholim.

  Shree Saptakoteshwar Temple (40 min.): This small temple is dedicated to Lord Saptakoteshwar, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The deity, which was originally in a temple on Divar Island, was moved to its present site after the island temple was destroyed by the Portuguese. The great Maratha warrior king, Shivaji, ordered its renovation at its present site in 1668 during his attempt to oust the Portuguese.
   
  Lamgao Cave Temples (10 min.) : These caves just outside Bicholim village can only be reached on foot. The smaller cave contains a phallic lingam and a stone carving of Nandi the bull, the steed of Shiva. It is believed the Buddhist monks and worshippers originally dug the caves.
   
  Shri Datta Mandir at Sankhlim (5 min.) : The 19th century temple on the banks of the Mandovi is of unusual design, with a blue multi-tired spire instead of the domed roof more common in Goan Hindu Temples.
   
  Arvalem caves and waterfalls (15 min.) : The earliest cave temples in Goa are in a series of rock outcrops southeast of the Sanquelim village excavated during the third and sixth centuries AD. A number of Buddha statues have been discovered in and around the area.
   
  Mayem Lake (10 min.) : It is located near the Bicholim town. The tranquil environment of the Mayem lake, makes it one of the ‘must-see’ tourist spots in Goa. The botanical garden by the side enriches the charm of this serene ambiance. The boat riding facility in this lake provides us an opportunity to experience this stillness by entering into the midst of nature.
